James Karr, Founder and Creative Director of NXT-SHIFT Media, is a Sports Media Director known for his clean, modern, and highly strategic approach to visual storytelling and digital content. Originally from California’s Central Valley, Karr has built a career at the intersection of sports, media, and brand development—helping organizations elevate their identity through impactful design and content.

 

His journey began in 2012 with the Fresno Monsters, where he quickly rose to Director of Operations by 2014. During his tenure, he played a key role in establishing the organization as one of the premier junior hockey programs in the United States. At the same time, he expanded his experience across the sports and performance space, working with the Fresno Grizzlies and contributing to the launch of Bullett Performance Training, a high-end strength and conditioning facility in Clovis, California.

 

In 2021, Karr relocated to Southern California to join the Jr. Reign, where he played a pivotal role in launching the Ontario Jr. Reign in the USPHL Pacific Division, rebranding the San Diego Sabers, and helping establish one of the largest youth hockey tournaments in California.

 

In 2024, Karr moved to the Philadelphia area to focus fully on media and content creation with ASM Hockey Group. There, he was instrumental in building the West Chester Wolves from the ground up while continuing to elevate the Atlanta Madhatters through high-level media strategy, branding, and content execution.

 

Karr’s work is defined by a minimalist, performance-driven design philosophy—where every piece of content is built with purpose, clarity, and impact. His approach blends creativity with structure, ensuring that visuals not only look strong but also drive engagement, visibility, and results.

Outside of his professional work, Karr has a passion for automotive culture, photography, gaming, and travel—continually drawing inspiration from both sport and life to fuel his creative vision.
